🐟 Dipped Fish (Crispy & Golden)
Ingredients
- 1 lb white fish fillets (cod, tilapia, haddock, or pollock)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 1 cup milk (or buttermilk)
- 1 egg
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Optional: Crunchy Coating
- 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan (optional)
- 1 tsp dried parsley
Instructions
1) Prepare the fish
Cut fish into strips or pieces.
2) Make the batter
In a bowl, whisk:
- milk
- egg
- salt & pepper
In another bowl, mix:
- flour
- paprika
- garlic powder
- onion powder
3) Dip the fish
- Dip fish into the milk mixture.
- Then coat in the flour mixture.
- For extra crunch, dip again in milk and coat in breadcrumbs/panko.
4) Fry the fish
Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry fish for 3–4 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
Drain on paper towels.
Bake Option (Healthier)
Place coated fish on a baking sheet.
Spray lightly with oil.
Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway.
