Classic BLT Sandwich
Ingredients (1 sandwich)
- 2 slices bread (white, wheat, sourdough, or toasted to preference)
- 3–4 slices bacon
- 2–3 slices tomato
- 2–3 leaves lettuce (iceberg or romaine)
- 1–2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Directions
1. Cook the Bacon
- Place bacon in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook until crispy, turning occasionally.
- Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate to drain excess grease.
(Alternative: bake bacon at 400°F / 205°C for 15–18 minutes)
2. Toast the Bread
- Lightly toast the bread until golden and crisp.
- Toasting helps prevent the sandwich from getting soggy.
3. Prepare the Tomatoes & Lettuce
- Slice tomatoes and lightly sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Wash and dry lettuce thoroughly.
4. Assemble the Sandwich
- Spread mayonnaise evenly on one or both slices of toast.
- Layer lettuce on the bottom slice.
- Add tomato slices.
- Place bacon on top.
- Close with the second slice of bread.
5. Serve
- Cut in half and serve immediately.
