Here’s a simple Chinese Chicken and Broccoli that tastes like takeout but is easy to make 🍜🥦
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast, thinly sliced
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp oil
Sauce
- ⅓ cup soy sauce (low sodium if possible)
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- ½ cup chicken broth or water
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger (or ½ tsp ground)
Instructions
- Whisk all sauce ingredients together; set aside.
- Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken and cook 4–5 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add broccoli with a splash of water; cover and steam 2–3 minutes until crisp-tender.
- Return chicken to the pan.
- Pour sauce over everything and stir constantly until thickened, 1–2 minutes.
- Serve over rice or noodles.
Optional Extras
- Red pepper flakes for heat
- Sesame oil (½ tsp) for extra flavor
- Sesame seeds on top
If you want a slow cooker or sheet-pan version, I can do that too!
