🍝 Beef Stroganoff (Classic Recipe)
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin or tenderloin, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp flour (or cornstarch)
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- Egg noodles (or rice) for serving
Instructions
1) Cook the beef
- Season beef with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Sear beef quickly for 2 minutes (don’t overcook).
- Remove beef and set aside.
2) Cook mushrooms & onions
- In the same skillet, add butter.
- Sauté onion until soft.
- Add mushrooms and cook until browned.
- Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
3) Make the sauce
- Sprinkle flour over veggies and stir for 1 minute.
- Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard.
- Simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened.
4) Finish with sour cream
- Reduce heat to low.
- Stir in sour cream until creamy.
- Return beef to the pan and heat through (don’t boil).
5) Serve
Serve over:
