🔥 Step-by-Step Directions
1. Preheat the oven
-
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
2. Prepare the sausages
-
If your cocktail sausages are packed in liquid, drain and pat them dry with a paper towel.
-
This helps the dough bake properly and not get soggy.
-
3. Prepare the dough
-
Open the crescent roll can and unroll the dough onto a clean surface.
-
Separate it into the 8 triangles along the perforations.
-
Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 narrow strips.
-
You should end up with about 24 strips.
-
4. Wrap the “pigs”
-
Take one sausage and place it at the wide end of a dough strip.
-
Roll the dough around the sausage, stretching slightly if needed.
-
Make sure the seam is on the bottom so it doesn’t unroll while baking.
-
Place it on the baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each one.
-
Repeat until all sausages are wrapped.
5. (Optional but great) Egg wash
-
In a small bowl, whisk together:
-
1 egg
-
1 tablespoon water
-
-
Lightly brush the tops of the dough with the egg wash.
-
This gives them that golden, bakery-style shine.
-
6. Add toppings (optional)
-
Sprinkle your choice of seasoning on top before baking.
-
Don’t overdo it—just a light sprinkle.
7. Bake
-
Place the baking sheet on the middle rack of the oven.
-
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until:
-
The dough is puffed and golden brown
-
The bottoms are lightly browned
-
8. Cool slightly & serve
-
Remove from oven and let them cool for 3–5 minutes.
-
Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
🔥 Pro Tips
-
If the bottoms brown too fast, move the tray to a higher rack halfway through.
-
Want extra cheesy? Add a small pinch of shredded cheese before rolling.
